  • <p>My May 30, 2022 photo. To quote Ken Roe, These are 1998 copies of the original ‘Naked Ladies’ by artist Raymond Briton Reviere. The original ones were destroyed in an ill-fated refurbishment called the ‘Zing Treatment’ in 1967 which removed most of the original Art Deco decoration throughout the cinema due to the Rank Organisation considering Art Deco ‘old fashioned’ . The original ‘Naked Ladies’ were back-lit with an electric ‘rising sun’ effect.</p>
