Surround speakers (44 in total visible on the walls and ceiling):
Each side wall has
4 rectangle at front
4 round
2 rectangle in each of the rear corners
Along back wall: 2 x sets of 3 = 6 total round
Two subwoofers down each side wall. Unsure of the exact model number but if they are the same as those in Dolby Cinema West End, London then those are SLS CS218-I x 4. Dolby Cinema Leicester Square, London uses SLS CS218XL X 8. Unsure if there are also subwoofers located behind the screen?
Ceiling:
2 rectangle at front x 2 = 4 total
7 round x 2 = 14 total
Rectangle speakers look to be QSC AP-5152 Acoustic Performance Series 2-way loudspeakers, 625W RMS
Round speakers look to be either of these models (both look identical to one another) SLS MA480AS / MA460AS 2-way 3-axis full range speakers
If anyone knows otherwise please do post in the comments section. I had no access to any specification sheets so apologises if any of the information is not 100% accurate. Would also like to give a shoutout to Kim (bored_tech YouTube channel) who mentioned speaker model numbers in some of the videos he posted on his channel when he visited the two Odeon Dolby Cinema venues in London. You’re awesome, Dude.
First, I’d like to extend my thanks to the manager and the staff on duty on 15/05/26, who were all exceptionally friendly and accommodating in allowing me to photograph two of the auditoriums (Screen 2: Dolby Cinema and Screen 3: iSense). Your assistance was greatly appreciated.
I made the journey to Leeds—a round trip of over 350 miles and more than six hours—to experience the UK’s largest and first purpose-built Dolby Cinema screen. With the exception of Odeon Luxe West End London (the second purpose-built Dolby Cinema) and Battersea Power Station (the third), every other Dolby Cinema in the UK has been created by retrofitting an existing auditorium.
Given its significance, I find it surprising that Odeon has done relatively little to promote this venue. I was also disappointed to discover that there were very few high-quality photographs of the Dolby Cinema auditorium available online. As a result, I decided to help address that by taking a comprehensive set of photographs during my visit.
I mentioned this to the manager at the time and, as promised, I’ve now uploaded a selection of the images I took that day, with photographs of Screen 3 (iSense) to follow. Apologies for the delay in getting them posted.
Finally, if anyone from Odeon happens to read this, I would be more than happy to do the same for your other Dolby Cinema locations, provided I can be granted access to empty auditoriums before the first screening of the day. If that’s of interest, please feel free to get in touch.
Christie® and Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB) are pleased to announce their renewed collaboration to develop the next generation of Dolby Vision®laser projection systems, which will begin rolling out into theatres in May.
This next-generation Dolby Vision projection system will build on the spectacular moviegoing experience that filmmakers, moviegoers and exhibitors have come to expect since Dolby Cinema was introduced 10 years ago. With more than twice the brightness of typical cinema presentations, and a contrast ratio well exceeding a million-to-one, moviegoers will experience the brightest whites, darkest blacks, and the finest details in between. For highly saturated and real-life colors, this new 4K projection system will use RGB pure laser illumination to enable Dolby’s Wide Color Gamut 1.0 — which is nearly twice the color gamut of Rec. 709 and 122% of DCI-P3-capable projectors.
Screen 10 was upgraded to Vue’s EPIC format and opened in July 2025 making it the first EPIC screen in London. Barco 4K Laser projection capable of HDR, HFR and 3D plus Dolby Atmos audio.
Was told yesterday by the Deputy Manager that there are plans to convert Screen 12 plus the unused VIP area into an IMAX screen but unfortunately they are quite low down on the list so it might be a while before work begins.
Have hoped that would happen one day because the auditorium and current screen size is just too big and wasted as a standard, albeit very big, screen.
Screen 3: Dolby Cinema opened on 09/09/22 (sixth Dolby Cinema to open in the UK) after refurbishment/conversion from the previous non-Dolby Cinema auditorium.
The IMAX screen will have been installed Summer 2019 onwards according to this article.
Screen 5: IMAX has an estimated screen width of ~48 feet or 14.63m based on the auditorium width of 52 feet. All seats (120) are recliners plus two disability spaces.
One of the very few IMAX screens in the UK that has recliner seats throughout. Odeon, Swiss Cottage being another.
There are 213 + 2 mobility seats in the Dolby Cinema (screen 1) plus four VIP boxes (unknown number of seats per box) per the ticket booking page on their official site.
Can someone please confirm the IMAX system at this movie theatre? Is it IMAX 2x2K Xenon with 6-channel audio? Capable of 2K HFR in 3D for Avatar: Way of Water?
A general question regarding AMC, how common is it for one site to have both Dolby Cinema and IMAX auditoriums? I believe AMC Lincoln 13 and AMC Empire 25 have both?
In the UK there is currently just one Dolby Cinema (Odeon Luxe, Leicester Square London) with another opening soon in Leeds. Neither of which include an IMAX screen in the same multiplex. Which is what raised this question. Wondered if it bothered either Dolby or IMAX having the other competing if you will in the same location?
Do AMC offer unlimited refills for the Freestyle Coke machines? Also, is that a Fanta Frozen (aka Tango Blast in the UK) machine that I see in the latest photos uploaded by @ridethetrain ? Since the introduction of a Sugar Tax (March 2018) in the UK, all Tango Blast drinks are only available as Sugar-Free which taste awful. Guess you guys still get the full-fat versions which taste way nicer?

Anyone happen to know the dimensions of Superscreen at Cineworld, Hounslow?
Does anyone know if either Odeon Luxe, West End or Leicester Square have been upgraded to the new Christie projectors?

Does anyone know the dimensions of the IMAX screen after the upgrade to IMAX with Laser XT and the Luxe treatment a few years ago?
Thanks.

Does anyone know approximate screen sizes and seat counts per auditorium?

Earlier in 2023 this site had two auditoriums refurbished, the existing IMAX screen plus Dolby Cinema was added to another.

Thank you.

@CF100 – Thanks for sharing that very detailed account of your Dolby Cinema experience at Odeon LUXE, Leicester Square.
One year in the making and you weren’t blown away. Hmmm…
Does anyone happen to know the size of the IMAX screen at this cinema?
