The Dixie Theater, a popular site for movie-goers
was originally located in the middle of the Northwest
Broad Street block. The theater burned on a Valentine’s Day in the 1930s and was rebuilt at the end of the block.

Oglethorpe theater I saw my first James Bond movie there
Diamonds Are Forever (1971) so the opening was not in
1975 I am not sure of the opening because I move to Metter Ga. in 1975
Hi all I lived just off Skidaway Road and used to ride
my bike to this theater and used to bowl at Victory lines.
A lot of good times was spent there going to the movies
I love movies and I even have a backyard drive-in because
I love the drive-ins and movies.

15 when we move to Metter Ga. as a kid I went to This
cinema my mom and dad would drop me and friends off
for a little time away from us kids.
Hi all I went to this theater when it was just one screen I watch “Stars Wars” here in 1977 and in the late 80s a wall was built and now two screens I am not sure when it closed
Hi all I also went to this drive-in well I live in Metter Ga. the family who run the drive-in live in the screen one of my best friends dated their daughter also in 1974 it was used in a movie called “Buster and Billie” staring Jan-Michael Vincent, Joan Goodfellow, and Robert Englund. Had fun there.

drive-in and yes there was a pool tables in the snack bar
had one of my first dates there I had a lot of fun on
sunday nights in the late 70s or 80s they added a backside screen and now its a parking lot for big trucks
to be unloaded at a business I love going there being
there with my friends.
