In 1984 one of the screens was renamed The Berkeley at the Classic and dedicated to showing arthouse titles (not sure how long this lasted) advert added to photos
Now reopen as https://berlin.fotografiska.com/en
A huge photography gallery, it retains the graffitied staircases and corridors of the High End era, the top floor is a huge video installation space so retains some connection to film
The new Ealing Picturehouse (part of the film works development) stands on the footprint of the Walpole auditorium and the entry is slightly to the right of where the Walpole frontage stood.
The original Walpole frontage will now face the front of the new Picturehouse bar area and has been restored and cleaned up
This became the Acton Screen which ran an art house rep programme and family films until closure in August 1989.
In 1992 it was listed as a comedy club.

The club entrance was created using the back entrance which had similar pillars to the front but this was the part of the building that got knocked down
The photo is how I remember it, the demolition took place in 1986, I used to go past each day on my way to college, during demolition the side walls were visible, with a long sloping floor and panelling similar to many cinemas of this era like the Electric Portobello Rd, the auditorium was set back from Wilmslow Rd and ran parallel to it
