On June 6, 1967, new operators took on the Twilite rebuilding it and advertising it as the “New Twilite” into the 1970s. It’s likely that the original Twilite had a 20-year lease agreement that lapsed and these new owners wanted to remain competitive with Shea Theaters announcing a new 750-car drive-in (which I believe didn’t ever get built).
