The New Loft begins August 31, 1972 after an invitation only event the night prior. The theater would operate for almost 20 years before moving its art facility to Speedway Blvd. where the location still said “operating since 1972.” The reference to 1972 is “The New Loft” as the porno chic theatre returned to its 1963 roots as an arthouse.
