This opened on September 1st, 1961. The grand opening ad is in the photo section.
The site is now an office equipment building(Katun).
As described in a two-page spread in the July 9, 1962 issue of Boxoffice, the Oasis had a straight 500-foot driveway from the highway to the boxoffice. But when traffic was heavy, they’d reroute cars through a 350-foot hairpin driveway to then pass through the same boxoffice in the other direction.
Opened with “The angry red planet” and “Konga”.

The 1963 Assumption High School yearbook included a short story about junker car giveaways at the Oasis. One was a 1951 Nash, which the recipient had to push home. Another was a 1950 Dodge, for that, the winner elected to accept a $40 prize instead.
