The White Horse Drive-In was opened May 28, 1950 with Spencer Tracey in “Adam’s Rib”. Known for all night old school horror film classics.
Had strong arc projectors with 2k foot enclosed reels.

Quite afew.It was a nice Drive-in I would pass hundreds of times going up to Tennessee.Have a picture.wonder if Robin would print it?
I’m working at a business that just opened up at the site of the old White Horse drive-in. We would really like to put some photos up in our showroom. Does anyone have any or know where I might find some?

This opened on May 28th, 1950. Its grand opening ad can be found in the photo section for this drive-in.
Opened with a cartoon(not named) and “Adam’s rib”.
According to drive-ins.com, the White Horse Drive-in opened on 22/5/1950 with “"The Barkleys of Broadway”. Closed in 1983. Demolished in 1996. There was home in the screen tower. The exit offramp to Whitehouse Road runs through the middle of the former druve-in site. One of the back corners is now a Quality Oil gas station.
Why the name White Horse?

White Horse Rd. was originally a rural dirt road and is currently 6 lanes and part of SC Hwy 25.
