A balcony was installed in the late 1930’s, along with proper theatre seats from the Princess Theatre in South Brisbane, Queensland. A Wurlizter organ was purchased from the Strand Theatre in Hobart, Tasmania.

Latest update from the official web site and as widely shown on the news.
During 32 years of ownership by Ron West and his late wife Mandy, the Majestic Theatre gained world-wide recognition as an authentic Silent Movie house with Ron providing accompaniments on the pipe organ.

Since October 2006, the theatre has been in community hands and has been given a major refurbishment prior to a month-long reopening program which started on July 15 with a highly acclaimed live performance of Verdi’s much loved opera La traviata.

New owners Pomona Progress.Art.Tourism Inc run the building as an all-purpose entertainment venue, suitable also for corporate events, wedding celebrations and community functions.

The former “candy bar” has been refitted as a commercial kitchen to support the cafe and restaurant.

While facilities have been brought up to the standards required by 21st century patrons, the style of yesteryear has been retained. Ron West continues to make available his skills as organist, while his son Brendon, a professional theatrical technican, manages the theatre.
