The U.S. Theater opened in 1910 as the Dream Theatre. It was operated by W.H. Sorrill. On February 26, 1926 the name was changed to the U.S. Theatre with a screening of “The Half-Way Girl” starring Doris Kenyon.
This theater closed in 1930. Extensive alterations were carried out in 1931 and over the years it was used as a mens' furnishing business, an adult bookshop, a restaurant and a nightclub.
