The Plaza Theatre was operating prior to 1941, and continued until at least 1950. It was a nice neighborhood single screen theatre when I last went here. It was twinned on June 7, 1978. It became a 4-screen theatre on November 21, 1986. In June 1990 a fifth screen was added. It was closed on December 31, 1999.

Thanks jokerO.
First film I saw at this theater was CONAN THE DESTROYER. My ex would always get mad at me when I would sing along with the HOUSE OF RECORDS promo that was spliced onto the trailer reel of every screening – markp, do you remember it?
I do. Those snipes really took a beating. Theatre kinda sucked as a 5 plex
Last major theater in linden until the AMC opened years ago.

Two screens and renamed Linden I & II on June 7th and became the Linden Quad theatres on November 21st, 1986, and closed in 2000.
A fifth screen was added in June 1990 and was renamed “Linden Fiveplex Cinemas”. The theater closed for the final time on December 31, 1999, and was notable for being the last movie theater in America to close in the 20th century.
