The first showtime listed for the theater is in December 31, 1915 with “Seven Wonders of Tacoma.” The Park Theater closed in December 31, 1962 with Robert Preston as “The Music Man.” It was renamed as the Parkway Hall thereafter as a VFW fraternal hall and event center. Lasting well past its 100th anniversary, it is now The Tacoma Christian Center at Parkway Hall.

My parent’s, Joe and Treva Plan managed the theatre in the early 1960’s. I’m looking for a photo of the theatre entrance.

Drove past the building used to be the Park Theatre yesterday, it seems to be a bingo hall among other things. I believe it operates under the name of “Parkway Hall” or something similar.

I think this building still exists. If you look up the address in Google Maps and go to the “street view”, there is a building with similar dimensions, placement, and trim around the top. However the facade has been heavily modified. I don’t know what the building’s present function is.

In 1953, the organ was moved to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tacoma. In 1956 it was removed from the church, but it’s current disposition is unknown.

It was still listed as operating in the Film Daily Yearbook, 1950 edition.
