Please update, 1061 seats
i know the concession stand can be messy at times, but hey, it’s an old theater.
How about the seats?
I saw a movie here this weekend, in cinema 9, and the theater was big and clean, the sound was just right, and the image was bright and clear.
This coming December 10 the theater turns 25 years old. Screens 8 and 4 have reduced seating count.
Ticket prices at this theater have gone up since the renovations last year. I was checking Showtimes for isle of dogs and an evening ticket costs $12.25. It’s still a bit cheaper than Rockaway .
Last weekend during a sneak preview of love Simon the theater was evacuated due to a fire alarm going off.
does anyone knows anything about what screens #8 and #4 are like here now?
I noticed on Route 10 that the left side of the theater has a giant amc logo to go along with the amc sign where the loews name used to be.
It seems that this theater has done quite well recently since the renovations.
As of this week, it is.
Reserved seating will arrive soon at this theater.
Theater’s name should be changed to AMC East Hanover 12. The Loews name has been dropped as of this weekend.
All screens now have recliners.
half of the theater now has recliners, with the other half being renovated for next month.
This theater also borrowed the parking lot design from others like Loews in Wayne and in Secaucus.
Mountainside also borrowed the design too.
How are those big glass vaulted ceilings holding up over the years? Do they ever leak when it rains? Loews took this design and ran with it all throughout the nineties all over the country.
At the time of its opening in 1993, it was the first and only movie theater in East Hanover, and the first Loews/Sony theater since the closure of the Loews Troy Hills in the early 90s. It was also one of the first Loews in NJ to share the Star Theatres design with others.
Theater is expected to be fully renovated by April or May according to a friend of mine who last went there.

This opened on December 10th, 1993. Grand opening ad in the photo section.
It used to be Sony Theaters when it opened in late 1993. It became Loews in 1997 a year before the Loews Cineplex merger. In 2006 it became AMC Loews and starting this year it will be just AMC East Hanover as AMC is rebranding its theaters into three: AMC, AMC Classic, and AMC Dine-In.
How is the description for this from before AMC Lowes merger? It happened shortly after this theatre opened.
status should be changed to renovating since half of the screens are boarded up for renovation.
