The actual opening date is September 2, 1949 with Yvonne DeCarlo in “Black Bart” along with two unnamed cartoons and the half-hour intermission track “The Twilight Serenade”.
Drive-in appears intact and open in 1981, but by 1995 had been demolished.
The main entrance to the drive-in was off Main Street, not Norfolk Road where the current entrance is located. The old entrance road is gone save for a small bit extending south from the current entrance.
However, you can still see the foundation of the ticket booth.
Opened with 2 colour cartoons(not named), and “In the navy”.
Opened in 1949
Chuck, in 1956 it parked 299 cars and was owned by Video Ind,which owned quite a few screens in that state.
Map and description of Linwood Rd. points to an area where no drive could have existed. Out further East of town looks to be the site, and the pictures link seems to support it.
