The Colonial Theatre was operating by July 1914, possibly even earlier. On October 14, 1915 a piano was installed to accompany silent movies. The Colonial Theatre closed in the 1950’s.

Was this renamed the Colonial Theatre? From 1926 thru 1952 the Colonial Theatre is listed at this same address and seated 300.

The July, 1914, issue of a trade journal called The Gas Industry had a brief item about a public demonstration of gas appliances recently held at the Colonial Theatre in Kendallville, Indiana.
