theater reopening, grand reopening in photos section
Rumor has it this theatre will not be reopening. I have not seen anything posted anywhere, just some chatter among fellow cinema geeks.
Please update, theatre opened April 21, 1995. The prior theatre was the Montgomery Twin theatre. See articles in the photos section and created a new page for the old theatre.

Theater is being refurbished and converted to digital. NJ.com story here. The story says that the theater originally opened in 1972 and has been an art house since 1974. Owner is Bob Piechota, who inherited the theater from his father.
I’m not really familiar with much of the seating capacity of this theatre, however from what I recall, Cinema 3 had a pretty long path leading up to the screen with plenty of seats on the left and the right of the auditorium. I do not recall that one being small, which is why I’m surprised to see that the seating capacity could be 93 seats.
Cinema 2 seemed much smaller than the possible 143 seating when I saw “Good Will Hunting”. Perhaps it had to do with the fact that it was a pretty crowded showing. It probably is about the same size as Cinemas 4 and 6.
It is a nice little theatre. I highly recommend it. The only one problem I had was when I went to see “Married Life” I was not anticipating watching it but there was nothing else worth seeing at the time. It was on a Saturday afternoon and there were two older women in the auditorium besides me. They did not seem to mind the constant hissing coming from the auditorium speakers throughout the entire performance although it was not distracting enough to mention it to the staff. The movie itself was not that good anyhow.

Cruised in here on my way from south NJ to north NJ with some time to kill in early 90s…caught Little Odessa…nice place, good to see an art theater in the suburban wilderness.
The theatre has recently had all its sound systems upgraded to Dolby Digital.

Total of 721 seats. Very well kept theatre, and nice safe parking in the giant shopping plaza it helps to anchor. And it has matinees daily.
All of the above are correct, but not necessarily complete.
Address is technically Skillman, New Jersey, although Belle Mead and Montgomery Township are also applicable. The Shop Rite in the same shopping center lists its address as Montgomery Township, NJ 08558.
Most people in the area, however, would call it Rocky Hill, as Rocky Hill is within a few hundred feet of this shopping center.
The listing is incorrect. It is definitely not closed. It closed only as part of moving to a new location within the Shop-Rite Shopping Center.

This theatre actually moved its location in the 1990s to another part of the expanded shopping center. (It had two screens, now it has six). It is now a completely different set of auditoriums, all of which are far too small, in my opinion. But at least it’s trying to carry on the tradition of the original.

This is open in a shopping center on Route 206 North. I belive the shopping center is called Montgomery Center. The theater’s address:

Isn’t this one still open, I’ve never been but I typed in Rocky Hill and saw a listing for a nearby Montgomery Cinemas. Is this the same one (that township was listed as Bella Mead). But it appears to be alive and well with 6 art features playing.
