Harding Place 6

The Carmike Harding Place 6 theatre opened May 4, 1990, a year after the mall’s initial cinema, the 680 single screen Capri Theatre, was demolished. The mall suffered a gradual decline in business as newer and larger shopping centres sprang up in the area. Carmike moved out around 2003, and attempts to reopen the theatre by independent operators never succeeded.

The entire mall was razed in 2009 and a Wal-Mart was built on the site.

I practically grew up at this theater. I was there every weekend during the school year and almost every day during the summer. When it turned into a dollar theater, I was even more psyched because I could afford to see several movies at once.
I worry that I was one of the only ones to ever appreciate Harding Mall and its great cinema.
The seats at Harding Mall’s Carmike 6 were the most comfortable movie seats I’ve ever encountered!
