This opened as Metropolitan on April 29th, 1912, and became the Palace in 1920, and its listings appear to end in 1956. Grand opening ads and AI colorized image posted.

There was a Colonial Theatre next door to the left of The Metropolitan Theatre that was in operation in 1912, but was gone by 1918. 1912 photo added showing both. Colonial Theatre CT page below. This proves the Metropolitan Theatre opened prior to 1914.

The January 6, 1923 issue of Motion Picture News mentions a house in Lawton called the Met Theatre. As the Palace was originally called the Metropolitan, I suspect that Met was a foreshortened name adopted by the house at some point. It was still called the Metropolitan in 1918, when it was mentioned in the September 7 Moving Picture World.

Listed various editions of Film Daily Yearbook, the seating capacities vary from edition to edition; 1940 and 1943=560. In the 1950 edition of F.D.Y. the seating capacity is given as 400.
