Cool, thanks for the update. Tim had a number of difficulties when he worked in Seekonk, MA and was actually fired from Showcase. I always thought he was a good guy but he struggled with a number of demons. It’s bizarre that he’s in Seattle. I wish I lived in Orlando.

DOS, you have no idea what you’re talking about. I worked with Tim, Sandy Desroches, Peter Wald, Bev, Lorraine, Michelle Therian, Bob Yaghjian, Chris Black, David Pallotta, MaryAnn and Cheryl Moitozo, Jeff, Rick Davis,Marc Catanzarite, and Tim Saucier etc. Need I name additional names? You’re the one that has only made snarky comments without adding anything of value. Instead of insulting me, why don’t you add something that proves you ever even worked at Showcase. My information about Tim is spot on and comes from reliable sources. I was just in the theater the other day watching Clone Wars. If you’re so interested in Tim, get a phone book and give him a call.

the above comment is totally out of character- your previous posts are not correct get your facts right – you are wrong with your comments.

I’m not in direct contact with Tim, I haven’t been in years. I’m still in contact with people who worked at Showcase years ago and haven’t left the area. For example, Dave P (“Weez”) is still around, as is Peter W. (who still works at 1-10), and Bob Y. (who I’m seeing this evening) My information comes from these people, who all live in the area and run into him from time to time. I don’t have contact information for Tim because, quite frankly, I haven’t spoken to the guy directly since 1992 so I really don’t care. I do know he’s alive an well, how much more clear could I have been in my post – his father recently died. Also, if you’re so hot to speak to him, stop writing vague posts here and get out the phone book and call him. I believe he still resides in Seekonk or Rehoboth. Besides, what’s your connection to this man anyway? If you worked for Showcase than you must still know people who would have the information you seek.

were you able to find out how to contact yet? It amazes me that you can list a post here saying that he is alive and well- you don’t even know it for sure

I worked for Showcase Cinemas for 6 years and was never aware of age discrimination. In fact, half the managers I worked with over the years were older.

I simply had to add my two cents regarding the comments about National Amusements not wanting to keep older employees around.
As a retired employee of 22 years I can tell you that comment is completly false. National Amusements does not now, nor have they ever, practiced age descrimination. Seasoned employes are revered
and respected, and I can tell you, any employee who would deny or terminate an employee based on age would be reprimanded.
Just wanted to make that perfectly clear.

I don’t think so. I haven’t heard a thing about this and I stay in contact with a few of my old co-workers. I searched obituaries online and found nothing.

Wow, I haven’t heard anything about a “fatal heart attack” but I’ll look into it immediately and I’ll post as soon as I find something out.

Just wondering if anyone has a contact information for this above person. I also want to know if the rumor of his fatal heart attack is true I have not been able to find out if his passing is true

who wrote, “I came across your comments about a former manager who you said you used to work with at the Seekonk showcase Mr. S.

I use to work with him when he came to the Warwick
Showcase- after the theatre in Seekonk was closed. I
recently bumped into another employee who also worked
with us and he heard about a year ago Mr. S suffered a
major heart attack and is currently faced with
several major health issues. When Mr S was let go he
was not working at the Seekonk theatre as this
theatre was closed.

I just thought I pass this information on to you."

I’m not sure why you blocked my ability to email you back but, yes, I was aware of Sauce’s “heart attack”, which I think turned out to be an angina or panic attack. The poor guy had horrible stress in his life and always suffered from hypertension. More recently he fell out of bed and broke his arm. His ex-wife was a demon who took explicit photographs of her affair with another man (which his children found). However, in the end he was fired for stealing cleaning supplies and office equipment for his father’s company, “American Pools”. I’m not sure why you’re disputing this.

One other thing, Peter, a manager who still works there, has been there for at least 25 years if not longer, which would not be the case if National Amusements didn’t “like to keep” old employees around. Other managers including Sandy D. has been with the company for over 20 years as well.

Tim S. was indeed fired. He was a great guy to work for and I had a lot of fun with him over the 5 years I worked at 1-10 and 11-12, however, I’ve kept in contact with at least 3 people (2 who still work at 1-10) and I have it on excellent authority that he was fired. I heard about it as soon as it happened. I actually worked at 1-10 (1-8 at the time) when 9-10 (10-11)was built and I helped with the transition (Miss. T. was the head manager at a time). Tim, who owns a huge autograph collection, was always involved in “deals” when I knew him. He would often trade movie passes, posters, etc., for other goods. It was not at all surprising to learn that he was stealing stuff. Again I want to be clear, I have no problem with the guy, he was a pleasure to deal with (as someone noted above), but this info is accurate.

Mr. S was not fired, He was nearing 20 yrs and was told that his position was being phased out- Showcase Cinemas does not like to keep long time employees around.
