The Pine Drive-In on Wolcott Road was one of the popular Waterbury drive-in theaters in the 1950’s and early-1960’s, with parking for 1,400 cars. It became the two screen Pine Twin Drive-In when it moved across the street in 1967, with the original location becoming the site of the Naugatuck Valley Mall. The Pine Twin Drive-In was demolished for a condominium development in the mid-1980’s.

This should not say it was also known as the Pine Drive-In. The two were separate theatres at different times in different locations (albeit only about two blocks away.)
The location of the original Pine Drive-In can be seen on the topographic map at View link
The address for this one would be 126 Mark Lane, Waterbury, CT 06705. This puts you right at the corner of Mark Lane and Industry Lane. The continuation of Industry Lane appears to be the original entrance road to the Pine Twin Drive-In looking at aerial maps and comparing.
When I was a kid in 84 or 85,my uncle had a cleaning business on Industry Lane. I remember thinking that it was cool that it was so close to the drive in,but then I found out it was torn or going to be torn down for condos. I was upset. I saw Star Wars for the first time there.
The original Pine Drive-In appears to have opened in 1950. Francis McWeeney was the owner in 1952.
The original Pine DI & GCC Naugatuck Valley mall has their own separate pages.
