Looking around this small west Texas town, one would never suspect it of ever having had a drive-in or walk-in theater. Located at U.S. 385 South & County Road 402-K, the Chief Drive-In was opened by 1951. It was still open in the early-1980’s.
Seminole was also home to the Tower Theater, but there is no trace left of either one.

Found it! Approx. location is south of town. Just north of U.S. 385 & County Road 402-K on the east side of the highway. The imprint is still there near the airport.
Billboard, Sept. 15, 1951: “Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Cox Jr. have completed a $5,000 renovation project on their Chief Drive-In at Seminole, Tex.”
The 1952 Theatre Catalog listed the Chief with a capacity of 300 cars, owner Audry Cox.
Opened June 6, 1950
A closer address is 349 U.S. Hwy 385 S, Seminole, TX.
Google Maps has updated their addresses and this puts it right on the property.
A 1984 aerial shows the drive-in intact and perhaps operational. By 1991, the drive-in had been demolished.
Today, it is private property with a house sitting where the entrance once stood. You can still make out hints of the outline and ramps.
