A replacement of an earlier Liberty Theatre. The Liberty Theatre opened on April 4, 1925 with Harold Lloyd in “Hot Water”. It was equipped with a Wurlitzer organ. This theatre underwent a restoration and renovation project in 2000. While the Liberty Theatre was once a movie house, it is now a venue for peforming arts and live entertainment.

I was let into the Liberty for a five-minute look by a gracious box office employee last week. The interior is every bit as ornate and fanciful as the facade over the entrance.
I have been told that arrangements are underway to acquire and install a theatre pipe organ.
A few 2011 photos can be seen here and here.
The Liberty Theatre was recently featured on Travel Channels Ghost Adventures show. Zac Bagans and his Ghost Adventurers entered through a lower level door of the theater that took them into the tunnels that run beneath the town.
The Liberty Theatre had a temporary precursor, noted in the March 10, 1923 issue of Moving Picture World:
Opened on April 4, 1925 with Harold Lloyd in “Hot Water” along with Portland resident Heri A. Keates playing the Wurlitzer Organ. This was also a replacement of an earlier Liberty.
Once known as Fox Liberty Theatre while being operated by Fox West Coast Theatres during the early sound era.
Later operated by JJ Parker Theatres.
