Simply not true. Never a Chris McGuire. They were bust before this opened.
Opened as a Chris McGuires Cinema, an automated theater franchise of one of the three famous McGuire Sisters singing group. A publicly held company as an OTC stock, the theatre group started in 1969 and went bust in July of 1971.
Yes, it was common in the ‘70’s for theaters to show x-rated and main stream movies in the same house. I operated the Star Theater in Coshocton, Ohio and we would show an x-rated movie about one week a month. We once played the x- 'Teenage Milkmaid’, then followed it the next week with Disney’s re-release of' Mary Poppins', very busy with both features. This was common at the time in many smaller towns in Ohio.
In response to Mike Rogers' 2010 comment, I am not sure what you meant by ‘format’, but in the early seventies many mainstream theatres showed x-rated fare without being labeled ‘xxx cinemas’ by anyone. “DEEP THROAT” and “MISS JONES” were shown in standard 35mm prints back then and seen by the masses at theatres.

From “DEEP THROAT” to “STAR WARS” Strange they would change formats and even stranger that moviegoers would even want to go into a XXX rated theatre even after the format change.
These were the crappiest screens in Hollywood back in the mid-late 70s, yet they seemed to get all the blockbusters. I remember seeing Star Wars here several times, as well as Grease (I recall my parents taking me to Grease opening night and entering the theater only to find it had been oversold and there were no seats available. We got our money back and drove across town to see Jaws 2 instead). Both versions of Saturday Night Fever played here, as well. Saw everything here from Corvette Summer to The Wiz to The Black Hole, Fade to Black, Motel Hell (by 1980, it had stopped attracting too many big-budget flicks). There was a great drugstore next door where we’d load up on snacks before we went to the movie.

The Cine Twin opened in 1971. Due to their success with x-rated films they were eventually taken over by the South Florida version of the Pussycat chain (Leroy Griffith) and operated a the Pussycat until at least 1996 and maybe later.
This 1985 lawsuit mentions a twin theater at 2315 North 60th Avenue, Hollywood, Florida, but I don’t know if it’s the Cine 1& 2:
