United Artists opened the Turtle Creek 9 on October 19, 1994. The theatre had a short life, closing in 2005 from damage sustained by Hurricane Katrina. It reopened under independent management, but closed in 2007. It was reopened December 23, 2015 by Southwest Theaters.

The Turtle Creek actually opened in 1994 -October I think- when the mall opened. Saw TRUE LIES there for free when they opened the doors.
As a former employee, the Turtle Creek 9 did open in 1994.
October 19th, 1994, October 21st, 1994 and December 23rd, 2015 grand opening ads in the photo section. Free movies on October 19th and official opening on the 21st.
