I saw a handful of movies here such as Damien 2, The Day Time Ended and Day of the Dead. I remember driving by in 1987 and Jaws revenge was playing. It must had closed down shortly after. Very sad.

stefankatlanta You were not the only one. I did too. I think the last movie I saw there was Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.

I think it looked just like my theatre here and like the Cedar Bluff in Knoxville. All three ABC theatres opening about the same time.

No I never took pictures of the Stonemont. I only went there once. I do remember it was called Bollywood before it was demolished.

This theater has not been demolished. It is presently used as a mosque.

The first time I went to this theater was to a private screening of Airport 1975 at midweek matinee. The theater was not grand but not a bad place to see a movie. It seems at that time the rear of the building was a smoking section.

From time to time I would see movies here. The last was the opus “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.” My how the mighty have fallen.

From what I remember, this theater closed about the same time Westgate closed.

Like I said it was not a palace but not a bad place to see movies.

The theatre is/was located at 3642 Campbellton Road SW, Atlanta, GA 30331 and was the north anchor of the Bell Hill Shopping Centre. The only film I can recall seeing there was Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (circa 1970). I am almost sure that the theatre’s rear seating area was reserved for smokers, a convenience absent in 21st century cinemas.
