This theatre, which was built in 1993, is perhaps most famous for continually showing the Oscar-nominated documentary film about the explosion of Mt. St. Helens. It was also equipped to show regular feature length films.

A few years ago they installed conventional 35mm theater projectors in addition to the Imax stuff. The Imax movies weren’t generating enough revenue so they reverted to regular 35mm first run movies.
By the way, the asking price for this theater is way too high!
According to the Longview Daily News, the Cinedome has closed, once again.

Yup it’s closed.
What has become of the building? It has been more than 3 years since this theater opened. BTW, did this theater show the 35mm Dolby Digital version of the St. Helens movie? That version I saw only once in this theater. The rumbling seats were cool.
Still closed.
is it possible to watch the IMAX movie about Mt St Helens in another Location this summer? It would be impressive for our sons to see the power of nature.
I drove by on my way back from Portland yesterday. The theatre remains closed but the lobby has been rented out as retail space. The exterior of the building is in perfect condition, the grounds and parking lot are well maintained.
