I remember as a little girl, going to The Star Theater on Sunday after church going to see JAMES BROWN in concert on the Big Screen. We paid for our admissions with coke cola bottle tops…Wow, those were the days! !!

This might be a new location, but according to Savannah records (http://www.city-data.com/chatham-county-ga-properties/E/E-Broad-Street-10.html) a Star Theatre is still extant at 718 E Broad St, albeit no longer a theatre.

The Star was on MLK, Jr. (formally West Broad St) and was torched during civil rights riots in the early 60’s.
