by 1915 it was renamed Odeon again and closed in February 1948. It reopened on April 4th, 1948 as the State theatre. Another ad posted.
The Odeon theatre was opened by Montgomery & Eberstein, which owned the Grand in Jacksonville, on October 1st, 1910. It was renamed the Montgomery No. 2 on November 3rd, 1911. More to come for this theatre. Ads posted.
The Odeon was one of the five movie theaters listed at Savannah in the 1914-1915 American Motion Picture Directory.
I just added a 1948 photo of the Odeon as the State Theatre. State should be added as an additional name for the Odeon.
“Historic Signs of Savannah,” by Justin Gunther (Google Books preview,) says that the Odeon Theatre had been renamed the State by 1950, and was demolished in 1960 to make way for the First Federal Savings Bank building.
I visited Savannah in September 2011, and I believe this cinema has been demolished.
