The site was redeveloped with a new Shop-Rite, Total Wine and Starbucks in 2015/16.

I was going by the site a couple weeks ago. The place was gone. I looked into it and there is a new store coming soon. To read more go to www.milfordmirror.com/24878/old-showcase-cinemas-coming-down-to-make-room-for-new-shoprite/

It is owned by National Amusements. As with all their other closed theatres (East Hartford, East Windsor, Orange, etc.) they will not sell it to anyone who wants to operate a cinema.

Who owns this abandoned building & lot now? If I were interested in purchasing it, who would I talk to?

This is still standing but boarded-up and obviously closed, another victim of the mall 12-plex, which replaced the 4- or 5-screen theater that used to exist there. This used to be the Milford Red and Blue Drive-in, hence all the parking spaces. Way too much parking for the number of seats at this theater. This was always the place to see a movie with good seats at a moment’s notice and always a good selection, because there were eight screens, however a problem due to lack of stadium seating and all the seats were on the same level and no cup holders, if I recall correctly. Now I go to Orange for independent films.

It still stands. Biked by it at 10pm the other night, it still stands and the free standing marquee says something like, “Closed…” The building is huge and the front and sides are boarded up. I was late to catch a show in Orange so I didn’t have a chance to get up close, but they have a huge parking lot and that mall area is done. The Post Mall is where it’s at. Blah.
