Opened by Signature Theatres on March 2, 2001. It was taken over by the Regal Entertainment Group in 2004, this was Sonora’s second multiplex theatre, and became the only cinema still operating in this historic gold rush town. The Regal Sonora was closed on January 8, 2026.

The Sonora Stadium 10 was one of more than a dozen multiplexes designed for Signature Theatres by the San Francisco architectural firm Uesugi & Associates.
Opened on March 2, 2001 by Signature Theatres.
I lived in Jamestown from 2007 to 2011. I lived in a group home in every year except the last one. Most of my moviegoing experience in the Mother Lode was at this theater. The first movie I saw here was “Meet the Robinsons” (2007) and the last one was “Cowboys and Aliens” (2011).
Final day January 8, 2026 as Regal runs out the 25-year lease
