December 24th, 1974 grand opening ad in photo section. Opened on the 25th.
Nice review of what everyone saw here but not a clue about the Millside itself. No actual dates. Who was the architect, how many seats, style, photos? Nine comments and like I said, not a clue!
Final Exam played here in June of 1981………..
I saw a two night Quadruple feature at this theater Halloween weekend 2002. Exhumed films played Alien, Darkstar, The Fog, and another John Carpenter film the first night. Then on the second night they played Night of the living dead, Dawn of the Dead Evil Dead II and Texas Chain Saw Massacre. The place was way complicated to find in the days before GPS. I missed most of Alien trying to find the place. Fun memory, sad to see its gone now.
FeverDog, you were looking for the New York/New Jersey release of Bedroom Eyes. It opened on September 12th, 1986 in your area.
Why, that’s me! Yes, all those movies KingBiscuits mentioned did play at the Millside 4. Why, I don’t know, as they all played there well after their copyright date. That’s what made the theater cool in its way – it played movies nowhere else did, like the Pennsauken 5.

This person mentions seeing obscure films such as Demons, The Drifter, Dolls and Bedroom Eyes here along with reviews for some of them. In fact, he talks about a lot of obscure films playing in New Jersey in the 1980’s.
This needs to be changed to “demolished,” as the site is now a Target.
Saw several movies here when I was a teen: “Coming to America,” “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle,” “The Hidden,” “Jacob’s Ladder,” “Naked Gun 2,” “A Few Good Men,” “Hope and Glory.”
Not much to say about the theatre. Its days were numbered when the megaplex in Burlington opened. Doesn’t seem to be missed.
Originally a Budco theater, then AMC.
