Not related to the All Jersey multiplex, this theatre is the only theater left in Newark showing movies, and the only theater in the area that’s now independently run after originally owned by Sony/Loews, which would run the nearby theater in Elizabeth. It was originally a 6-screen theatre and opened on April 2, 1993.
In 2012, this movie theatre became the Cityplex 12. The largest screen in the revamped theatre will be called the Shaq-EX Premium Theatre Experience with a 43-foot screen and 3D projection. All auditoriums have stadium seating, and state of the art digital projection and surround sound.
