The Chinese opening advertisement of the Zenith Theatre

The Zenith Theatre was the first theatre to be built in the Sham Shui Po district on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong after the end of World War II.

The theatre opened to business on 9th December,1951 with June Haver in “I’ll Get By”. It showed second run English language films from December 1951 through 1955, and first run Chinese dialect films were shown afterwards until its closure on 1st January,1973. Its last programme was a Mandarin vaudeville show.

A residential building was built on the site of the theatre.
