OMG, I was there for their Shaw Brothers opening night premiere of THE BRAIN STEALERS at the Federal Theatre’s 9:30 pm showing!!! That night, Mandarin superstars Li Ching, Lily Ho, Ling Po, Ting Pei and a host of other Shaw Brother contract players cut the ribbons at the front of the auditorium. I wanted to go to the 7:30 pm show because my favorite Connie Chan Bo Chu, Shiu Fong Fong, Fung Bo Bo, Sit Ka Yin and Lui Kei were there but it was sold out. Then, I also used to make my mom take me to eat ham and macaroni soup at that big cafe below the movie theatre. It was just a mere 5 minutes walk away from our old flat.
