The City Theatre was opened November 1926. By 1939 it had been renamed Strand Theatre. It was still open in 1957. Later used as a live venue renamed named Ellis Theatre. By 2025 it was open and under renovation as a live music venue.

Opened as the City Theatre in November of 1926. Converted to sound in March of 1930.
Currently owned by the Philadelphia Neshoba County Arts Council and operated as the “Congress of Country Music” Here is a link to the organization’s theater restoration web page:
