1234 Route 9G,

Opened April 13, 1962 with Sophia Loren in “Two Women” & Gregory Peck in “Guns of Navarone”. The 9G Drive-In was a popular movie venue in the 1960’s and 1970’s. For most of the 1970’s however, it went to alternative screenings, presumably to attract a full audience by offering diverse attractions, as there were four other drive-in theatres in about a 15-mile radius. It went thru two phases before it was torn down.
First it showed concert films, then it went at all X-Rated adult films. (Actually, that was in times when smut movies actually had a plot, and they were worth watching). The 9G Drive-In was closed in 1985.
