Memorial Square Six

Opened on June 28, 1985, the Memorial Square, along with the Gwinett Place 6, were among the last of the theatres to open under the Plitt banner in the Atlanta area. Although these were touted as a departure from the “shoebox cinemas”, they were not anything remarkable and architecturally sterile. Both theatres closed after only a few years of operation. The Memorial Square Six was closed in 1995.

Really Funny how PLITT had the theatre districts divided up,Atlanta a Large City much,Much larger than Knoxville,Tenn., but Atlanta was in the Knoxville District. In 1983,all Atlanta locations were in the K-town District and Knoxville only had Three screens in 1983,Oh well, so it goes.

Talk about average and just blah. Went here a few times in the ‘80’s as my Dad lived off Memorial for a year or so and it was closeby. Most bland theatre, and too pricey when you got the $4.50 student discount at AMC Northlake!
