Located in the suburb of Millard, the Millard Cinema 4 opened on March 18, 1983 with seating listed at 980. The theatre was operated by Douglas Theatres until it closed on October 29, 1996.

the correct name for this theater is the Millard Cinema 4, not “Mallard”
OK! This is a cool find! So I go to look for this place and will be damned if I can find 139th. Turns out 139th runs through the middle of this shopping centers parking lot. Happened to have done a Google maps streetview of the address and recalled the visual (this was the only way I found the place. It is now home to a Pet World and Thrift World off Millard Ave in Millard Plaza (the address however is exactly correct except that it is 5321 and 5323 S. 139th Plaza…). Went in. Booth still there used as office space or storage in both businesses. Just walk straight to the back toward the Grease and Saturday Night Fever posters (Thrift World) and once at the back, turn around and stare agape at 2 pairs of changeover style projection ports lit from within. Same with Pet World except there I can only find the one set of changeover style ports again lit from within. Next to Pet World windows looks like mounting area for poster cases. There is a suspicious looking shorter extra Burger King sign in its parking lot. Methinks it was the original theatre street signage. 3 bricked-in old emergency exits at rear of original building.
This opened on March 25th, 1983.
“Highway 50” is also known as “Millard Avenue” at this intersection. The top of the map in the advertisement is oriented with West to the top.

5321 S. 139th Plaza, Millard Plaza shopping center, 895 – 1616. Four screens. Tickets are $2 for showings that start before 6 p.m., otherwise $3.75 except $2 for those younger than 13 or older than 64. Matinees on weekends and major holidays, and during summer and winter school vacations."
I helped open this theater and worked there for the first year or so. Northwest Cinema out of Minneapolis built and operated it, along with the Park 4 in Ralston, before selling it to Douglas. We had one of the only 70mm projectors with Dolby Surround in Omaha at the time. I moved over to the Q-Twin Drive In after the sale and ran the projectors 2 nights a week.
