The Towne Plaza Theatre was opened on February 27, 1969 with the animated feature “Yellow Submarine” featuring The Beatles. It was twinned by 1975.
Operated by PCC Movies, the Alvin Premiere 5 was closed in 2008. It was being renovated in late-2012, and reopened as a 4-screen theatre on December 25, 2013.

This space has been re-leased to be opened as a movie theater again. Remodeling under way, and digital conversion as well.
Digital projection equipment has been ordered and set to install third week of August. Renovations continue. Projected opening in September.
Cinema is awaiting final fire/health/building inspection next Monday (the December 2nd).
Older side of theater has been de-twinned and restored to it’s original size. Seats approximately 340 in the main auditorium. Christie CP4220 lighting up a 46 foot wide scope screen. USL sound processors, crown amps, JBL speakers, and QSC subs.
Three smaller auditoriums are running Christie Solaria One’s with same sound system. Each seats about 90.
Place has never looked better!

The Towne Plaza Shopping Center was announced in 1963 and opened theatre-lessly anchored by a small Sears catalog order store. In 1968, that changed when a $250,000 suburban luxury theater was added to the center. The Towne Plaza Theatre opened on Thursday, February 27, 1969 with The Beatles in “Yellow Submarine.“The venue was then twinned by 1975.
