I used to come here as a kid in the 70s when The Continental was a single screen theater. It seemed gigantic to me, and the curtain that covered the screen had these beautiful multi-colored lights hitting them. That was lost when the large auditorium was divided into two, and became a “twin” theater.

This theater closed a few years ago. It was demolished to make way for a new, relocated Publix Supermarket. The original Publix was located in the center of the plaza that once housed the Continental Theatre.
