I wonder if this item from the October 10, 1925 issue of Motion Picture News could have been about the Strand?

“Long Branch— Plans are being drawn by Maximilian Zipkes, Archt. of 25 West 43rd St.. N. Y. for erection of theatre bldg. at corner of North Broadway and Second Ave. Approx. Cost $350,000. Seat. Cap. 1,500. Plot 155 ft. x 145 ft. Owner— Lucinor Holding Corp. of N. Y.”

This was right north of the Paramount, but the address is just a large empty space now – all covered in grass.

See a hi-res scan of one of the postcards from above, featuring Reade’s Strand and the Paramount across the street, from 1939, in my Flickrstream:

This theatre was renamed the Baronet about 1952, as was the Ocean in Asbury Park, when Walter Reade did major renovations to most of his theatres, and the chaser Baronet signs from Reade’s Baronet in NYC went to the two new Baronets, one to each theatre.
