Loews Southpoint 5 was opened on June 4, 1982. This theatre was closed in late-2004. In the Summer of 2010, the building remains intact and shuttered, with posters from a couple of the final movies screened still displayed in their frames; “Ladder 49” and “Shark Tale”.

I remember working here as an usher, wonder where the other crew members are now.

I am skeptical that this closed as a Loews Cineplex location. Photos I took of the theatre closed in 2010 showed that it was serving Pepsi and I don’t recall Loews ever having made the switch from Coke to Pepsi.

Ads for this cinema became very spotty after 2000 in the chronicle.
