This place actually opened sometime in the 80s or 90s. It was a Loews called Easton Commons and had an almost identical design as the Loews in Spring with the same old school posters.
Closed in January of 2021
Loews Easton Commons definitely opened sometime at least in the 80s. I saw National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation at this theater in December of 1989 when I was 14 years old. I also saw From Dusk Till Dawn here in the late 90s when I was about 21. Wow I feel super old now since there was open debate on what decade this theater opened. I saw a couple flicks here later as an adult when it became Studio Movie Grill, and had nostalgic memories here. I know there was a shooting at this theater a few years before the pandemic. Sad to see it go. Many theaters in Houston have closed recently.
