The Comique Theatre was located on Acushnet Avenue, between Cedar Grove & Kenyon (neither of which exist today). It was opened by 1907 and was still open in 1927. The theatre later became the Mount Royal skating rink, and was demolished in the 1960’s to make way for Route 18.

The Comique is listed under New Bedford in the 1927 Film Daily Yearbook as having 1000 seats and open daily.
The description is wrong. The address was 958 Acushnet Ave, 2 blocks north of Hicks between Cedar grove and Kenyon.
Further research reveals it to first appear in the 1907 City Directory, leading me to believe this was it’s first year of operation.
