Opened July 25, 1947 with Dorothy Lamour in “Rainbow Island”. Located in Franklin Park, Allegheny County at the Allegheny/Beaver County line. The Brookside Drive-In was operated by R.W. Thompson Jr. and Searn-Hanna Co-Operative Theatre Services.
Last night of operation was September 6, 1987 screening Jason Patric in “The Lost Boys” & Madonna in “Who’s That Girl”. There is nothing left of the drive-in today; it was replaced with a greenhouse and nursery, Brookside Country Market (now called Sewickley Creek Greenhouses)

This was my families drive-in. I worked there from 1969-1980. That’s when we sold it. My dad and his partner were the ones who designed and built the whole theatre. We were one of the first drive-ins to have cinema-scope movies. I have a lot of great memories from there, and if I had to do it all over again, I would have bought it from my parents and still be running it
Thanks Mike for a great comment.
