This was the 2nd Lyric Theatre to operate in Boise. It was a conversion of an existing building and opened in 1926. Following a remodel it was reopened on April 27, 1940 as the renamed Boise Theatre. It was listed as being operated by Paramount Pictures Inc. through their subsidiary Tracy Barham. It was closed on August 14, 1973 with Eva Wishaw in “Suburban Wives” & “Moonlighting Wives”. It was demolished in the 1970’s.

Opened as Lyric on March 28th, 1931, and reopened as the Boise theatre on April 27th, 1940.

“The Lyric Theater at 913 Main Street had a little bit of history to it before 1926. Form Jewelry store, wallpaper store, tailor shop, hardware store, saloon to theater to cafe' with rooms for rent and gambling upstairs, and for a while, a bowling alley in the basement. In the fall of 1925 Marge Armstrong received a building permit to convert the building into a theater again, with a balcony. The Boise Theater opened in 1926, and fell to the wrecking ball of the BRA during the destruction of downtown Boise in the 1970’s.”
Closed August 14th, 1973.
