A great looking Art Deco style building on the corner of Calle Hermosilla & Calle Conde del Penalver in the Goya area of the city. Its been a C&A retail store for many years. The outside is very impressive and retains 99% of its original facade. The inside (i’ve only seen it thru a closed door on a Sunday morning) is 99% complete, all be it gutted of any fixtures and fittings. The store has very cleverly used the cinema as a fashion statement- it sits there with the different clothing departments spread over its two floors. There is a double escalator that rises from the orchestra pit/front stalls area into the circle level. (yes I could see all this through a side door way!) The entire auditorium has been painted one colour. I will soon pay a return visit to Madrid and get some inside photos for us.

I don’t want to sit in center stalls/orchestra. I want to sit in the 1st circle/balcony & watch the movie on that screen.
