Here is a November 1956 item from Boxoffice magazine:
Val Mercier, Perryville, Mo., and his brother L.A. “Bud” Mercier of Frederickstown, Mo. are planning to build a drive-in theater near Ste. Genevieve, Mo. The only theater in Ste. Genevieve, the Orris, 500-seater, has been dark since August 30. It had been operated by Martin Operle for a number of years.
L.A. Mercier operates the Mercier Theater and the Hi-Y Drive-In at Frederickstown, while Val Mercier has the Mercier Theater in Perryville and the Hilltop Drive-In near St. Marys, Mo.
Orris Theater built in 1932 retains the original marquee that has been restored to like new condition. This old 500 seat theater has been converted into a bar and restaurant. http://dnr.mo.gov/shpo/nps-nr/02000357.pdf page 102

Remember back in late 70s' seeing voyager here when it was still a theatre. Could have been early 80s'. Steve Higgerson from Chester on vocals, George wham from Chester on guitar. Mark schipkowski and Tim Burle on keyboards and lead guitar and mike lag aye from bond terry on bass. Rich springer from Chester on drums. They later had Paul hoganmiller on guitar and mark switched to drums. They played at vets hall a lot also. Always a rocking good time with those guys no matter where they played.
The Orris Theatre opened its doors on January 11, 1933 with Leslie Howard in “The Animal Kingdom” along with a few unnamed short subjects, featuring installations of RCA Photophone. It was closed on February 25, 1977 with “Norman… Is That You” but later reopened as a special events theater. It now houses a nightclub and a restaurant.
