The Lennox Theater was opened on April 12, 1940 with Joan Bennett in “The Housekeepers Daughter” & Kay Kyser in “That’s Right - You’re Wrong”. It is listed in editions of Film Daily Yearbook from 1943 (it is not in the 1941 edition) and through to 1952 when it closed on March 19, 1952. It was advertised in the LA Times on 2/11/46. I’m not sure if Lennox had been annexed, or perhaps was a separate city at that time. It’s given as a city location in the theater guide that day.

I know (strictly from driving by, of course) that there is a good-sized strip club around that address called the Jet Strip. I will check on the address to see if it’s the same building.

An internet search brings up the Jet Strip at 10624 Hawthorne Boulevard, Lennox, CA.

Looks like it’s time for investigator man to get on the case. I will enter the Jet Strip under cover of darkness and will carefully analyze the structural details therein. Full (or almost full) report to follow.

This 1972 ad has the Lennox at 10927 Hawthorne. It could have been a different theater. Sadly, Investigator man has not been able to complete his mission as he has been thwarted by his arch-nemesis, Mrs. Investigator Man:

The Lennox was in the lineup in this March 1947 LA Times ad, about the middle of the page:

I went to Historic Aerials and the building seems to have lasted till 1990. If you type in the address and look at the 1985 view its there and by 1991 you see fresh dirt.
