Opened with “Buccaneer’s girl”.
I don’t know how many of you remember “Spook” shows that used to play after the late movie- they consisted of some magic tricks and then something scary like cutting off the head of a volunteer from the audience or the creation of a Frankenstein monster. Usually there would be a frightening movie on that night.
When these shows played the Crescent houses they would often play the drive-ins too and do the show on the top of the concession building. People would just stand around and watch. Such shows played the Bordeaux several times.
The “green, roundish clump of trees” Silicon Sam mentions above that identified where there screen was is no more. The Hallmark Station apartments now occupy that site.
This opened on July 26th, 1951. Grand opening ad in photo section.
O.K.Danny I am on Facebook as Terry Smith I have many photos on my Flickr account as loewsguy and have about 400 photos on my C.T. page as TLSLOEWS just click on TLSLOEWS on the comment above yours and you can veiw the photos.
Hey, TLSLOEWS, I don’t know who this Robin person is that has never posted your photos … but I’d sure love to see all these marquee photos you talk about. The new format of Cinema Treasures makes it very simple to upload photos. I’m also on Facebook in all the Nashville nostalgia groups. Love to see what you have.
I am on Facebook to have some theatre stuff on my page, saw Jennifer on mine as someone I might know must be from her e-mail that you use.Now back to the Bordeaux Drive-in to stay on topic,LOL.
She is on FACEBOOK,I am going to JUMP on that Girl, Nick is always a good bet to get stuff on.He wants to Include every theatre he finds.
I sent Robin a photo of the marquee, but she never posted it,I will try to find another one.
i have it parking 450 cars,Dave, and being owned by Creascent Amusement in 1956.
I have been in here many times, in fact I once roomed with the manager and his wife, William A and Martha McPherson, and I used to go up to his office in the concessions/projection building and talk to him. Mr Mack had formerly managed the Capitol on 2nd Avenue South. Wonderful people. My wife and I went by their graves in Spring Hill just this past Wednesday to pay our respects.
Was located at 3930 Clarksville Pike, Nashville, TN 37220 United States.

The green, roundish clump of trees in the field directly behind the store is where the screen stood, facing NorthWest. Verified in 1992 Google Earth view.
I believe I sent a photo to Robin of this drive-in, but I could be wrong, I do know that it was located in North Nashville.
Tsloews, don’t be shy put down what you remember we all love reading stories.
It parked 450 cars and was owned by Crescent Amusement Co. They owned a couple of Drive-ins in the Music City.
I remember this north Nashville Drive-in.
The former site of the Bordeaux Drive-In on Clarksville Hwy is now occupied by a Kroger store and the new Bordeaux Public Library. A bit of trivia: directly across the street in a little non-descript building was the longtime dentist office of James Denton Sr. DDS. (He pulled my wisdom teeth). His oldest son James “Jamie” Denton is now one of the stars of ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” and has appeared in dozens of films and TV shows. Dr. Denton passed away about 10 years ago. Jamie’s tatoo on his bicep is a tribute to Dr. Jim.
